Adding Chat to Wix

Add your TAB chat widget to your Wix website. This works with most Wix sites and templates.

What you need​

  • Access to your Wix account
  • A Wix Premium plan (custom code requires a paid plan)
  • Your TAB embed code (from Channels > Chat Widget > Embed)

Step-by-step guide​

Step 1: Open your Wix dashboard​

Log in to Wix and go to your site's dashboard.

Step 2: Go to Settings​

  1. Click Settings in the left sidebar
  2. Click Custom Code under "Advanced"

If you don't see Custom Code, you may need to upgrade your plan.

Step 3: Add new code​

  1. Click + Add Custom Code
  2. Paste your TAB embed code in the code box
  3. Give it a name like "TAB Chat Widget"

Step 4: Configure placement​

Set these options:

  • Add Code to Pages: All pages
  • Place Code in: Body - end

Step 5: Save and publish​

  1. Click Apply
  2. Go back to your site editor
  3. Click Publish to make changes live

Step 6: Test it​

Visit your live website and look for the chat bubble.

Alternative: Using Wix Editor​

If you prefer working in the Editor:

  1. Open your site in the Wix Editor
  2. Click the + Add button
  3. Click Embed > Custom Embeds > Embed a Widget
  4. Click Enter Code
  5. Paste your TAB embed code
  6. Position the embed on your page
  7. Publish your site

Note: This method may show the widget differently than the first method. The Custom Code method is recommended.

Wix requirements​

Plan requirements​

Custom code requires a Wix Premium plan:

  • Combo, Unlimited, Pro, VIP, or any Business/eCommerce plan

Free Wix sites cannot add custom JavaScript code.

Editor X / Wix Studio​

If you're using Editor X or Wix Studio:

  1. Access Developer Mode
  2. Add code to the site's masterpage.js or through the Settings panel
  3. Similar concepts apply

Troubleshooting​

Chat not appearing​

  1. Make sure your site is published
  2. Check you're viewing the live site (not editor preview)
  3. Verify your Wix plan allows custom code
  4. Clear your browser cache

Chat appears in editor but not live​

  • Publish your site
  • Wait a few minutes for changes to propagate
  • Try viewing in a different browser

Code was rejected​

  • Make sure you're pasting the full embed code
  • Check for extra spaces or characters
  • Try copying the code fresh from TAB

Widget looks wrong on mobile​

Wix mobile views can affect positioning. The widget should still work, but check both desktop and mobile views of your published site.

Match Wix colors​

Customize your chat widget colors in TAB to match your Wix template.

Consider positioning​

Wix sites sometimes have elements in the bottom corners. If the default position conflicts with your design, try the opposite corner in TAB's widget settings.
