Understanding Workspaces
A workspace is your team's shared area in TAB. All your agents, customers, and settings live here.
What is a workspace?
Think of a workspace like a shared folder. Everything inside it is visible to everyone on your team:
- All your agents
- All your customers and conversations
- Data sources and training content
- Integrations and settings
If you're a solo user, you still have a workspace - it's just for you.
Your first workspace
When you create your TAB account, a default workspace is created for you automatically. You can start using it right away.
Workspace basics
Finding your workspace name
Your workspace name appears in the header at the top of the page, in the organization dropdown.
Switching workspaces
If you have access to multiple workspaces:
- Click your workspace name in the header
- Select the workspace you want to switch to
Each workspace is completely separate. Agents and data in one workspace don't appear in another.
When to use multiple workspaces
Most users need just one workspace. Consider multiple workspaces if:
- You manage completely separate businesses
- You want to keep client projects separate
- You need different teams with different access
Workspace settings
To access workspace settings:
- Click Settings in the sidebar
- Select the Workspace tab
What you can change
Workspace Name Change the name to something that makes sense for your team.
Industry Set the industry your business operates in, so TAB can tailor agent guidance and analytics to your line of business.
Workspace Members Add team members and manage who has access — by email invitation, a single-use join code, or an invite link. See Managing your team.
Who can see what?
Everyone in a workspace can see:
- All agents
- All customers and conversations
- All data sources
- Usage and billing info
If you need to restrict access, use separate workspaces.
Common questions
Can I move an agent to a different workspace?
Not directly. You would need to recreate the agent in the new workspace.
Can I be in multiple workspaces?
Yes. You can be a member of multiple workspaces and switch between them.
What happens if I delete a workspace?
Everything in it gets deleted - all agents, customers, and data. This cannot be undone.
