Training Errors

Training should complete in a few minutes. If it fails or gets stuck, here's how to fix it.

Training failed

Data storage limit reached

Training uses your plan's data storage limit. If you've exceeded it, training won't start.

Check: Go to Settings > Usage and see your storage usage.

Fix:

  • Remove unnecessary or outdated training content
  • Upgrade to a plan with more data storage

File format not supported

TAB accepts these file types:

  • Documents (.pdf, .doc, .docx)
  • Presentations (.ppt, .pptx)
  • Spreadsheets (.xls, .xlsx, .csv)
  • Images (.png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif)
  • Text (.txt, .md)

Other formats won't work.

Fix: Convert your file to a supported format.

File too large

Each file must be under 10MB.

Fix:

  • Compress the file
  • Split it into smaller files
  • Remove unnecessary content

Corrupted file

Sometimes files appear fine but have internal issues.

Fix:

  • Try re-saving the file
  • Create a new version
  • Copy content to a fresh document

Training stuck

If training seems to hang:

Wait a bit longer

Large training jobs can take 5-10 minutes. Don't refresh the page while training.

Refresh if it's been too long

If it's been more than 15 minutes:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Check the training status
  3. If it shows "Failed," try again

Try training with less content

If you have a lot of content:

  1. Try training with just a few FAQs first
  2. If that works, add more content gradually
  3. This helps identify problematic content

Training completed but agent still doesn't know things

Content wasn't included

Make sure you:

  1. Added the content (FAQs, documents)
  2. Clicked Train
  3. Waited for "Trained" status

Adding content doesn't train automatically - you have to click Train.

Content is unclear

If your documents are messy or confusing, the agent may not learn well.

Fix:

  • Use clear, simple language
  • Organize content with headings
  • Use FAQs for specific questions

Testing wrong questions

Your agent only knows what you taught it. If you ask about something not in your training content, it won't know.

Fix: Add FAQs for the specific questions you want answered.

Specific file causing problems

If training keeps failing:

  1. Remove all content
  2. Add one piece at a time
  3. Train after each addition
  4. When it fails, you've found the problem file

Once you find the problem:

  • Try a different format
  • Recreate the file
  • Copy key content into FAQs instead

Duplicate content

Having the same content multiple times can confuse training.

Fix:

  • Remove duplicate files
  • Don't add the same FAQ twice
  • Keep content organized

Previous training was better

If a retrain made things worse:

Unfortunately, you can't undo training. But you can:

  1. Review what you changed
  2. Fix or remove problematic content
  3. Retrain

Tips for successful training

Start small Begin with 5-10 FAQs. Add more after confirming it works.

Use clean content Remove irrelevant text, duplicates, and messy formatting.

Test after training Always test in the Playground after training to verify it worked.

Keep records Know what you trained with, so you can troubleshoot.
